NATIONAL PI DAY PARTY
It's hard to believe that we are already going into our 2nd year at 3.14 and we get to celebrate Pi Day AGAIN with you! After all, it is our day and we can't wait to get this party started!
But first a lil’ history about Pi Day. It’s an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π (pi). The earliest known official or large-scale celebration of Pi Day was organized by Larry Shaw (the happy fella shown above) in 1988 at the San Francisco Exploratorium, where Shaw worked as a physicist, with staff and public marching around one of its circular spaces, then consuming fruit pies. Hence Pi Day was born and to this day The Exploratorium continues to hold Pi Day celebrations. Then on March 12, 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day. Hint: some of this might make it on our trivia!
LIVE MUSIC: By Deryk Cunningham and Andrew Thompson starting at 5:30. We will not be taking reservations, so come early to grab a seat for our ever so delicious food and drink specials. We will be selling our new and very cool 3.14 T-shirts...and maybe even giving out a few as well! ;)
